What should I charge?

Charge for these on top
The post is the base price. These are separate fees, and brands expect you to ask for them.
- Usage rights
- The brand reposts or keeps using your content. Usually 20–50% of the base fee per month, with a time limit, a territory and a list of channels.
- Ads from your account
- Also called whitelisting: the brand runs paid ads through your handle. About 20–25% of base per 30 days, 1.5× for up to 90 days, 2–2.5× for up to 180.
- Exclusivity
- You don't work with competitors for a while. 20–100% of base, depending on how long. A few days around the campaign is normal; months cost more.
- Rush
- About a week's notice or less. Add a rush fee; 48–72 hours is urgent.
- Extras
- Scripts written for you, more than one round of changes, a link in your bio. Each adds to the price.
Seven mistakes that cost creators money
- Quoting before asking about usage, ads and exclusivity. Price each as its own line.
- Giving "perpetual" or "all media" rights. Always set a time limit, territory and channels.
- Quoting your bottom line. Brands pay below the asking price, about a quarter less on one big marketplace. Leave room.
- Taking the first offer. Most creators say they're often offered less than their rate. Counter.
- Pricing on followers alone. Bring your views, engagement and where your audience lives.
- Cutting the price instead of the work. Drop a Story or shorten the usage window; keep your rate.
- No rush or revisions clause. Put both in writing before you start.
Brands will ask for proof.

Ranges are typical asking rates, not guarantees, collected 29 October 2026. Sources disagree, so each range names its source. Agency rate cards for managed talent run much higher than these; marketplace data for small creators runs lower.
